Mental Health in College-Aged People
The college years are a time of growth, change, and discovery — but they can also bring stress, uncertainty, and unique challenges. For many, this is the first time they’re putting words to mental health struggles, making connections between past experiences and current feelings, and exploring the kind of person they want to become. It’s also a stage when barriers — whether internal, relational, or systemic — can become more visible. Academic pressures, shifting relationships, identity exploration, and the transition into independence can all impact mental health. Having support during this time can make a significant difference in building resilience and navigating these changes.
Our Approach
Tauk Wellness offers a supportive and nonjudgmental space for college students and young adults to process challenges and build skills for both academic and personal success. With professional experience in university counseling, our team has a deep understanding of the unique culture, expectations, and pressures of campus life — from navigating coursework and campus resources to balancing new responsibilities and independence. Every student’s situation is different, so our approach is flexible and tailored to the individual, meeting them where they are in their journey.
Treatment
Treatment often includes addressing challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship patterns, roommate conflicts, ADHD, etc. It may also involve exploring feelings of being misplaced or not fitting in, creating strategies to build belonging and purpose, and career counseling through transitioning out of college. Step-by-step, therapy supports students in facing what feels overwhelming or unclear, developing practical coping tools, and building the confidence to navigate both their inner world and the demands of daily life. Our approach is meant to be adaptable, dependent on each student's unique needs.
